We’re funded!

So, what now?

I should have a physical proof of issue 5 today or tomorrow; I’ll snap a picture.

At least one of our beta readers has already finished and turned in notes for round 3 edits of issue 5.

The $2000 we raised so far covers some of the unmet expenses associated with issues 5 & 6, and some of those extra funds will be used to repay myself from savings I dipped into to make sure they were ready to go in time for the Kickstarter.

As it stands, I can probably float one more issue of Cirsova based on the income stream it has started to generate from sales of previous issues. But the good news is, we still have over half a month!

Now is the time to shoot for the stars. We could really use another $2k for 2018, both keeping on top of content and art acquisitions, and actually getting some tables at cons this year.

One of the best ways you can help, if you’ve already pledged for a physical or digital subscription, is to pledge for an advertisement with us. Because we try to keep per-issue costs to readers so low, Ads will help us out A LOT in terms of being able to afford content in the future.

Thanks to all of you who have supported us! We hope you can count on your future support in the years to come!

  1. Congratulations!

Curious about the number of supporters: is it less than, equal to or greater than the earlier issues? We’ve got to grow the base.

    • Thanks! Right now, we’re sitting at 100 subscribers via the Kickstarter with half the time remaining. The last time around, we had 117 subscribers at the end. So, there may be growth (we’ll have to see!), but it hasn’t quite been what we were hoping for, especially considering the positive buzz we’ve been getting everywhere. On the upside, we’ve sold a lot of issues via amazon; about double what our core kickstarter subscribership is, so it could be that some people are buying but not backing or aren’t aware that they can subscribe.

But yes, we absolutely have to grow the base. One of the reasons why I’ve used kickstarter is as a means to measure the excitement and enthusiasm – and while it’s there, and what is there is loud, it’s still not where I’d like it to be. But we’re going to keep working hard in the meantime.

I definitely appreciate your support; there have been a couple of pieces that we’ve managed to include entirely because of it that we otherwise would have had to turn away or delay.
