It is both astounding and disheartening to see article after article come out on or around Brackett’s birthday downplay her role in Empire to the point of saying ‘she was a woman so they threw away her script’. We’re witnessing Culture Revolution and it is burying one of the most important women in the history of Science Fiction. * This new generation cannot be claim to be pioneers unless the old ones can be dismissed or are forgotten.

Women have been writing awesome and badass sci-fi for over a century. Women have broken down countless barriers. Don’t be fooled by people who want to put those barriers back up just so they can claim that they were the ones who knocked them down.
